I was talking with a sister in the Lord who didn’t think God could (or would) use her. It made me wonder how many other people feel this way.
How many people think they aren’t smart enough, gifted enough, popular enough, know the Word enough, etc.? It is not your standing among man that dictates how or when God can use you. 1 Corinthians 1:26 says For you see your calling, brethren, that not many wise according to the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called.
When God made you, He made you perfect. Do you believe that? Psalm 139:14 says you are fearfully and wonderfully made. You are made in the very image of God according to Gen 1:27. When He made you, He gave you gifts. 1 Cor 7:7 says … But each one has his own gift from God, one in this manner and another in that. You DO have (at least one) gift from God. Romans 11:29 says For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable. That means God is not going to change His mind about what He created you do to. It is never too late to start.
2 Cor 10:12 For we dare not class ourselves or compare ourselves with those who commend themselves. But they, measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves among themselves, are not wise. Comparing yourself with another is not a smart thing to do. You can’t measure your usefulness to God (and others) by the ministry others have. God put you in this time and place on purpose! We’ve been looking at the Book of Esther in our Fellowship recently, confirming this (Esther 4:14).
God has given EVERYONE gifts (talents) according to their own ability (Matt 25:15). Don’t you want to hear Him say “well done good and faithful servant, …enter into the joy of the Lord”? (Matt 25:21,23). Time is ticking down to the end of the age. You don’t know when your chances to serve here are done. Serve the Lord while it is today. Yes, God can, and WANTS, to use you.
