Choose This Day Whom You Will Serve

By Pastor Dave

Each day and each situation presents us with choices. We all have decisions to make. Some decisions are simple and easy and some are complex and difficult. Those of us who believe in our Lord and Savior and those who chose to not believe all have to face choices each and every day. Some of our choices have the potential to alter our lives and some do not. All our choices have consequences and that is why what we choose is so important.

One person chooses to steal a car and gets caught and is now heading to prison for a number of years. Another chooses to cheat on their spouse and starts a chain of consequences that will effect them and so may others. Then there are those who choose not to steal and not to cheat and they set in motion a different set of consequences.

Every day every person has the opportunity to choose to accept and believe in Jesus Christ as the Son of God. He is the one who took away the sin of the world and He is the one who said if you believe in Him you will have eternal life. Whether you are a Christian (a true believer) or not doesn’t matter. That choice is before you each and every day of your life. But here is the kicker. Your choice to believe or not to believe sets in motion a set of consequences, good or bad, right or wrong, pleasant or painful. So many people blame God for the pain and difficulty in their lives but the truth is it is simply a consequence of their choices. People want God to help them, to do something for them, but they choose not to accept and follow Him. They want His blessings but do not want to submit to Him. This is true for the Christian and non-Christian.

Do you want better things in your life? Do you want to walk in the blessings of God? Do you want to have God working on your behalf? Choose God.

Make the right choice. In the Bible the book of Joshua in chapter 24 verse 15 it says,”……..choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve………But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.”

We made the choice to follow our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We have not made that decision once, but every day and in every situation. Because of our choice we walk a blessed, peaceful, content and purposeful life. You have a choice. Choose wisely. I pray you choose to submit and follow Jesus each and every day. I guarantee if you choose Jesus you will never be disappointed. A choice for Jesus will put you on a new and wonderful path.
