Psalm 46:10 instructs us to “Be still and know that I am God”
We all live a busy and noisy life. Our lives are full of things drawing our attention, so much so, it is often difficult to hear from God. God wants us to take time, to make time, to get away from our phones, our TV’s, our music, our activities and clear our minds and listen for His voice. Many of us wait for God to shout at us, but He does not.
In 1 Kings 19:11-13 we see that God was not in the great strong wind, God was not in the earthquake, God was not in the fire, but then there was a soft gentle breeze and God was in the breeze.
God is always trying to get our attention and we are often too busy, to occupied, to hear His voice. My wife had a revelation of this many years ago and we come back to it often. The Holy Spirit spoke to her and said, “Close enough to hear, but too far away to listen.” We need to be still, to wait, and to not only hear but to listen for the voice of God. Be still and Know that I am God!
