Don’t Despise Prophecy

by Cindy Phillips

Received May 19, 2024 The end of the age is at hand. If My people realized how close it is they would take their walk more seriously. My people should be living as if TODAY could be The Day. Instead many are complacent – happy to live day to day serving themselves while giving a nod to me for a bit every day or a few hours Sunday. Many of My people understand I AM coming soon but don’t want to discuss it for fear they are wrong or because they fear they don’t understand it enough. This complacency and fear are from the enemy. If the enemy can get My people to stop proclaiming the judgment that is coming he can prevent My message from getting to the ears of the lost. This is an effective tool in his arsenal. Tell My people being silent is failing to do good – a sin! Proclaim the judgment coming so some will wake up and come to Me before it is too late.

We are told in Scripture not do despise prophecy. 1 Thes 5:20. Prophecy means revealing the hidden wisdom of God and that includes foretelling future events. The Bible is full of prophecy! Many of the events were future when written but fulfilled in the fullness of time (such as Isaiah 45:1 where God called Cyrus by name 150 years before he was even born!). Jesus fulfilled messianic prophecies when He came the first time as the Savior for mankind (ex: Isaiah 53). There are many prophecies yet to be fulfilled, especially surrounding Jesus’ second coming and the end of the age. As followers of Jesus we should not shy away from telling people of the judgments coming on the earth. Romans 13:11-12 says And do this, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep; for now our salvation is nearer than when we first believed. The night is far spent, the day is at hand. Therefore let us cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armor of light. We are to witness the lateness of the hour. Even those who do not know Jesus sense the world is spinning out of control. You can use this to point those who are without hope to the One Who can give them true and lasting hope. The world will soon be judged. Each and every soul will stand before God Almighty and give an account for their lives. Their works will be judged. Don’t fall into the trap of some, scoffing at the idea the Lord’s return is any time soon, saying, as described in 2 Peter 3:3-5, knowing this first: that scoffers will come in the last days, walking according to their own lusts, and saying, “Where is the promise of His coming? For since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of creation.” For this they willfully forget: that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of water and in the water.

Don’t be a scoffer, don’t be afraid to speak the truth in love, rather be bold as a lion and seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness. Be about your Heavenly Father’s business and store your treasures in Heaven!

Maranatha!
