What We Believe

The Bible

We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God and the only infallible guide and rule of our faith and practice.  (Psalm 119:89; Matthew 24:35; 2 Timothy 2:15, 3:16-17;  Peter 1:19-21)

God

We believe there is one God.  In the unity of the Godhead, three persons, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, equal in every divine perfection and attribute, fulfilling distinct but complementary roles in the lives of believers.  (Genesis 1:26; Matthew 3:16-17; 2 Corinthians 13:14; 1 Timothy 1:17; I John 5:7)

  • God the Father

We believe in God the Father, the Co-Creator with the Son and the Holy Spirit, who is the eternal, all-powerful, all-knowing, everywhere-present and unchangeable Creator of all. (Deuteronomy 32:6; Psalms 103:13; Isaiah 63:16; Matthew 6:9; 5:19-23, 17:1-11; Acts 17:28; Romans 8:14-16, Ephesians 4:6)

  • God the Son

We believe in God the Son, co-Creator with the Father and Holy Spirit, who took upon Himself human form, being conceived by the Holy Spirit, of the Virgin Mary, and given the name, Jesus.  By His death and bodily resurrection He reconciled mankind to God.  He ascended to Heaven where He is seated at the right hand of the Father making intercession for us. (Isaiah 53:1-5; Matthew 1:21-23; John 1:1-3, 11:25-26; Ephesians 1:20-23, Philippians 2:1-6; I Timothy 2:5)

  • God the Holy Spirit (Holy Ghost)

We believe in God the Holy Spirit, co-Creator with the Father and Son, who is now sent by the Father through the Son to convict the world of sin, righteousness, judgment and truth and to empower and equip the believers (Saints, Church) to carry on the work of Christ on the earth. (Genesis 1:2; John 14:26, 15:26’ 16:8; Acts 1:8)

Sin

We believe that mankind has fallen (sinned) from its original state of created goodness because of Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden and this sin is transferred to all mankind since that time. (Genesis 1:27, 3:1-6; Isaiah 53:6; Romans 3:10, 5:12, 5:19)

Redemption of mankind

We believe Jesus was the sacrifice for the sin of mankind planned of God from the foundation of the world.  By His sinless life, death on the cross, by His shed blood He was mankind’s atonement for our sins and made a way of salvation for all who will believe on his name. (Isaiah 53:5; Titus 2:14; Hebrews 7:25; I Peter1:19-20)

Salvation

We believe that no man/woman can save themselves, that salvation is by God’s grace alone.  Salvation is received by faith along with repentance and acceptance of Jesus as their personal Lord and Savior.  (John 3:3, 3:16-17; 2 Corinthians 5:17; Ephesians 2:8-10, I Peter 2:24)

Water Baptism

We believe every believer should as commanded, when possible after salvation, be baptized by immersion in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost. (Matthew 28:19; Acts 2:38; Romans 6:4)

Communion

We believe in participating in the bread and cup of communion in remembrance of the Lord’s death, burial and resurrection.  We participate in an open communion for all believers regardless of their church affiliation. (Luke 22:7-22; I Corinthians 11:23-28, 2 Corinthians 13:5)

Baptism of the Holy Spirit

We believe every believer should live daily in fellowship with the Holy Spirit and experience continual growth and go from faith to faith.  The Holy Spirit gives gifts that each believer is admonished to desire and to use for the benefit of the believer and the body of Christ (the church).  Each believer, with the aid of the Holy Spirit, should develop the fruit of the Spirit in their lives.  (John 15:4, 8; Acts 4:31; Romans 8:1,5; Romans 12:6-8; I Corinthians 3 ;17, 12:31; 2 Corinthians 7:1; Galatians 5:16-25; Ephesians 4:30-32.5:18; I Thessalonians 5:22; Peter 1:15. 4:10-11; I John 2:6)

God Heals today

We believe that “By His stripes we have been healed”.  We believe that God provided healing through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ and that it is available for all believers today. (Isaiah 53:4-5; Matthew 8:16-17, Mark 16:18; Acts 3:16, 10:38; James 5:14-16; 1 Peter 2:24)

The Resurrection

We believe that Jesus rose from the dead and that through His resurrection He has provided a resurrection for all believers unto eternal life.  (Matthew 28:1-7; Romans 6:1-10; 1 Corinthians 15:20-22; 1 Thessalonians 4:14-18)

The Soon Second Coming

We believe in a real, literal second coming of Christ which will be seen by all in which He gathers all His saints.  (Zechariah 14:4; Matthew 24:36-44; Acts 1:11; 1 Thessalonians 4:16-18; 2 Thessalonians 1:7-10, 2:8; Titus 2:12-13; Revelation 1:7)

Body life

We believe that believers should gather together regularly to worship, learn, edify one another, for fellowship and training.  We believe all believers are equipped with gifts and should minister according to their gifts.  We believe that all believers should tithe and give offerings to their local assembly and to others as God would lead them.  (Psalms 111:1; Malachi 3:8-10, Acts 2:42-47, 16:5; Romans 12:5; 1 Corinthians 16:2; 2 Corinthians 9:6-7; Hebrews 10:24-25)

Civil Government

We believe that all governments are ordained by God and everyone should be in proper submission and subject to the laws of the land, except those that violate Scripture.  We believe that in times of war or choice of occupation it is up to each individual to follow their biblical beliefs on the taking of another person’s life. (Mark 12:17; Acts 5:29; Romans 13:7; 1 Timothy 2:1-2; Hebrews 12:14)

Civil Disobedience

We believe that whenever civil government makes laws, mandates, ordinances, and regulations that are in clear and direct opposition to the Word of God (The Bible) that is incumbent upon the individual and the church to obey the Word of God rather then the civil government. (Acts 4:19-20, Acts 5:29)

Judgment and Hell

We believe in a final judgment for all those who refuse to believe on/in the Lord Jesus Christ.  We believe in a real Hell which is a place of pain, torment and eternal suffering that is reserved for the Devil, the demons and all those who refuse to accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. (Matthew 13:41-43, 25:41; Mark 9:43-44; Revelation 14:10-11, 20:10-15, 21:7-8)

Heaven

We believe in a real place called heaven where believers will live eternally.  It is a place of joy, peace, security and a place of constant presence of God in all his fullness.  We believe all believers will receive rewards for deeds done on earth when they get to heaven.  (John 14:2; 1 Corinthians 2:9, 3:10-15; Revelation 7:15-17, 21:4, 22:5)

Marriage

We believe in the traditional Biblical standard of marriage as ordained by God to be between one man (biological male) and one woman (biological female), for life.  We can support no other forms or ideas of marriage.  (Genesis 1:26-27; Matthew 19:4-6, I Corinthians 7:1-9, Ephesians 5:31)

Outreach, Evangelism and Missions

We believe that the Great Commission commands us to take the gospel message to our family, community, region, country and world and to all people groups. We believe that not all believers are called to be missionaries but all believers can and should support missions financially and in much prayer.  We believe all believers are called to witness to family, friends and their community (work, school, area of residence).  We believe in community outreach to share the good news.  (Psalms 2:8; Proverbs 11:30; Matthew 9:38; Mark 16:15; John 4:35-37; Acts 1:8; romans 10:13-15; Ephesians 5:16; 2 Timothy 4:1-2; James 5:20; Revelation 5:9)

Israel/The Jewish people

We believe Israel and the Jewish people were and still are God’s chosen people.  They are a nation and culture ordained and founded by God.  A remnant has been supernaturally preserved throughout the centuries and that modern day Israel is still God’s nation and the Jew is still God’s chosen people.  We believe in support of Israel where and when possible as a body of believers and as individuals.  (Genesis 12:1-3; Exodus 3:7-10, 5:1, 8:22, Acts 7:34, Leviticus 26:9-13; Jeremiah 32:38, Ezekiel 37:27; Romans 11:1-2, 11:11-32; 2 Corinthians 6:17-18)

Further Statements of Faith

This statement of faith is definitive but is in no manner to be considered exhaustive or conclusive.  We believe in further principals as laid out in scripture all of which would require a many page document.  These statements are, we believe, the basics that all believers should believe, attest to and understand.
