What and who do you stand for? You have to decide where you stand before you enter a battle. A soldier in the field who waivers is easily defeated. God has given us much to say in His Word about this. In Ephesians 6, for example, in verses 11 & 15 we are told to stand if we want to win over the wicked one. Take a look at David. While he was a young man, a simple shepherd, he faced Goliath. You can see where he stood in 1 Samuel 17:45-47. Take a minute to grab your Bible and read these passages. Imagine yourself in his shoes, facing a HUGE adversary all the grown men were too afraid to tackle. How could he do this? It is because he took a stand. He decided before the battle where he stood and Who was on his side. Ask yourself – why was David victorious? Was it because he was smarter or stronger than the men on the battlefield? Was he smarter or stronger than Goliath? No! It was Who he stood for and Who stood with him.
Times are only going to get harder. People all around you are going to fall. Will you be able to stand? When you make a decision to stand for God you will find He is well able to make you stand. We see this in the Book of Daniel when the four young men of Israel stood for keeping themselves undefiled with the king’s delicate food and drink in Chapter 1 and when the three young men refused to bow to the statue in Chapter 3.
God’s Word is full of stories like these to help us live for Him in these last days. He will never let you down! Do not fear what is about to come on this earth. Fear God. He is willing and able to come through for you in every battle if you will stand for Him.
