When I read and study the Bible, I am often amazed at what God has done. Let me explain. When I read the New Testament, I see the Old Testament and when I read the Old Testament, I see the New Testament. I marvel at how God has arranged His holy word. Who but God can take 66 separate books written by over 40 people over a period of over 1,500 years and blend it together into one flowing story? No one but God!
I read Psalm’s 22, 23, 24 and I see the crucifixion of Christ in Psalm 22, Jesus’ burial and victory over Satan in Psalm 23 and the resurrection and commission of the church in Psalm 24. All that written thousands of years before it happened. Who but God?
I have noticed also in Psalm’s 117, 118 and 119 another amazing thing God did. Psalm 117 is the shortest chapter in the Bible, Psalm 118 is the middle chapter in the Bible and Psalm 119 is the longest chapter in the Bible. Also in Psalm 118, the middle chapter in it’s middle verse (14), it states; “The Lord is my strength and my song, He has become my salvation.” (ESV). So right in the middle of the Bible is summed up what the Bible is all about. Jesus came to save us and become our salvation. So cool. Psalm 117 tells us to praise the Lord. Psalm 118 tells us that God is our salvation and Psalm 119 tells us study and abide in His word and we will grow and live as true believers. That is way cool.
I could say so much more. I can give examples throughout the Bible but that would be a very long Though for The Week. I would encourage you to read the Bible daily and have an eye for the amazing things God has placed in the Bible just for your discovery. Read and enjoy the Bible.
